This is one of my favorite pictures of Jesus Christ. I love that His arms are open, inviting me in for a big hug. It’s not the usual Christmas picture that we have come to expect. We celebrate His birth at Christmas time, but also His life. Without His example and teachings His birth would be of little note - after all we were all born. Some, I’m sure, were even born in a manger. However, none of us live as He lived or love as He loved. This is the true Christmas message. Live to the best of your ability in kindness and goodness, and love your fellow men. My Christmas wish for you is not peace throughout the world, but peace in your little corner of the world, in your heart and your mind. I wish you love and kindness in all that you do and say and may it be returned to you by those you have contact with. I wish for you a knowledge that Jesus Christ lives and that He died so that we might live again, that we might be with Him and with our families throughout all eternity. This knowledge is what brings peace to my soul and gives me strength to face all of life’s challenges.
It is nearly 8:30 on Christmas morning. The children have been up since 4:30 - the presents have all been opened - and breakfast is in the oven. Wonder of wonders - the sil called from Odessa to wish his children a Merry Christmas. To say I was surprised is putting it mildly! So far it has been a wonderful Christmas - I got a uber-soft, pretty blue bathrobe, each of the kiddies and their mom got new jammies, Santa visited with toys and a new bike for the 9-year-old. We have the sing-along version of Mamma Mia to watch later today and dance and sing to our hearts’ content. I anticipate the rest of the day will be as pleasant as its beginning. The timer is ringing, indicating that breakfast is ready to eat. Have a great day.
I’m so glad you’re having a wonderful Christmas! It’s a difficult time during a divorce, but sounds like your daughter and the kids are doing well and that you’re a big part of that. Merry Christmas!
