12 October 2008 - Columbus Day

It’s taking a long time to recover from the cold/flu, whatever I’ve had.  I am feeling better as far as being able to breathe and not coughing as much.  However, it takes a long time for me to get completely over anything and get my energy back these days.  The tortilla soup was exactly what I needed - opened up my sinuses very nicely, thank you.  I also took Chris’ advice and made some chicken noodle soup.  It was so yummy I only got one bowlful.  My family really chowed down on it.

I’ve been wanting soup a lot lately.  I made some squash soup one day, besides the chicken noodle and the tortilla soups.  Today I made a big pot of 15 bean soup.  It is also very good.  I’m not normally into hot drinks much, but I got out the hot chocolate mix today, too.  We had our first snow, so hot chocolate seemed like a really good idea.  And — It was! :)

I will be travelling to Twin Falls this week to see my doctor again.  I’m going to ask him about a procedure to block the nerves so that I don’t have pain as often or as intensely.  I don’t know whether it’s something I can have done while I’m there or if it will require waiting to get on a schedule.  Anyway, I’ll likely be out of touch until I get home again.
