avatar_29.png  Once upon a time a not-so-young princess set out to conquer a mountain.  The name of this mountain was NaBloPoMo.  It was tall, and dark, and unknown.  But the princess persevered and eventually reached the top of the mountain.  Along the way she met many natives and fellow-travelers.  They were friendly and helpful.  When the princess reached the top of the mountain she gave thanks for all her new friends and those who had helped her along the way.

avatar_4.gif  Well, one more day.  I’ve spent most of today dozing off.  Seems like if I do anything one day the next day I can’t stay awake.  I’m sleeping well.  I guess I still need to build back my strength after all the challenges of this year.  I’m looking forward to 2008.  It should be better.

I received my teaching assignment for Relief Society for December 23.  We will be discussing the influence of good music in our lives.  I love music.  I know it is one thing that helps me deal with life’s challenges.  This week I have been listening to Light Classical and Sound of the Season.  My mood has improved greatly.  I’m still not getting much done, but at least I feel better about it.  :-p

My grandson spent most of the day down here with me.  In fact he was down here playing when I woke up.  I’ve got more open floor space, so it’s more fun to run his trucks around my room.  And he can usually scam grandma for some bread and cheese.  He asked me if he could have some bread to go under his cheese.  He’s so cute!!

avatar_12.gif  Winter has come to Southern Idaho.  We got snow yesterday with more predicted for today.  Not a lot of snow yet, but the week isn’t over.  I’m sitting here listening to Christmas Music and getting into the holiday spirit.  Somehow the music brings a bit of warmth to a very grey day.  I need to get my shower and get dressed.  I’ve been on the computer ever since I got up.  I’m going to be forced to go out for a bit today to see hubby and get some cheese.  It has become the mainstay of my diet lately.  I ran out two days ago, and I think I’m having withdrawal.  Is it possible to be a cheese junky?  My grandson hasn’t been down to get toast this morning.  His mom must have fed him something good for breakfast. ;-)   Only two NaBloPoMo posts to go.  It’s been an interesting month.  Have a great day!

NBPMo   I nearly missed making a post today.  I’ve been on the computer quite a bit and didn’t realize I hadn’t already posted.  I’m really getting senile.Just watched the final “Dancing With the Stars.”  Helio and Julianne won.  I thought it should have gone to Mel and Maksim.  Oh, well.  Can’t have my own way all the time.

NBPMo  26 days of blogging.  The end is near.  I haven’t been visiting other blogs much the last week or so.  I’ve had other things on my mind.  This has been a bright spot in my month.  I have enjoyed making a post every day and visiting the other bloggers.  I intend to hit the randomizer again the rest of this week and see if I can make a few more friends.

For my friends who enjoy puzzles, I have added a jigsaw puzzle link to the sidebar under “Funstuff.”  There are many puzzles to choose from.  Personally, it takes me at least twice the ‘normal’ time to solve one of these. ;-)

NBPMo  I thought I had already posted something today.  I’m feeling a bit more alert than yesterday.  I’ve been doing some laundry.  I’m making some turkey broth with the neck and giblets.  Tomorrow we’re going to have turkey and dumplings.  I haven’t used leftovers in this way before, but it sounds awfully good.  I love dumplings!  And they’re so easy to do.

Been watching old movies today.  Just saw Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse in The Band Wagon.  I’d never seen it before.  Don’t know how I missed that one with all the old musicals I’ve watched and loved through the years.

Tomorrow begins another week.  Gotta make it a good one.

NBPMo  It’s been one of those days when I can barely stay awake.  I haven’t even been able to do much reading today - keep drifting off to sleep.  My kids went out early this morning for the bargains.  Left me and the grandkids home sleeping.  They said they got some good deals and pretty well finished up their Christmas buying.  Personally I’ve never wanted to fight the crowds and have avoided the big shopping days.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today has been very quiet.  I did a bit of shopping - mostly picking up prescriptions and then went to the library.  Had to stock up on reading material for the long weekend.

When I got back from the library, the 3-year-old was running around in nothing but his underpants.  Having already helped him get dressed once today I asked why he was half-naked again.  His reply:  “Cause I’m not whole naked.”  You just can’t argue with logic like that. :-)
